Hello friends! I am Matt Seib, I use he/him/his pronouns, and welcome to my website!
Although I’ve spent my college years on the East Coast at Elon University, I am originally from the Seattle, Washington area, where I’ve developed an affinity for cloudy days and quaint coffee shop vibes. Along with my BFA in Music Theatre, I aspire to become qualified as a theatrical intimacy director. On a constant journey of growth and discovery, I see every moment of time as an opportunity for self-reflection and connection. My goal is to bring this same self-reflection into my work and inspire audiences to do the same.
I aspire to be an active part in changing the theatre industrial complex that the performing arts industry has found itself bound by. I believe we have gone far from the source of what theatre is and I try to keep conversations on this shift consistent in our system. If we don’t keep these conversations active, we are active members of its continuance.
Black Lives Matter.
We need to face the reality that although our industry has been seen as inclusive throughout history, we need to put that inclusivity into action and make our space more equitable for our black and brown friends. This time should be a time of listening, educating, and subsequent action with complete transparency.
